Frequently Asked Questions

In short — yes (see reasoning below). However, as with any online resource, we strongly recommend double-checking the information and applying your own clinical judgement.

MedicMuse is not intended to replace clinical decision-making or to solve complex cases like some other AI tools claim to do. Instead, it is designed to support GPs and other healthcare professionals with simpler but time-consuming tasks such as looking up NICE guidelines, generating referral letters, creating patient information leaflets, and more.

For complex or nuanced clinical scenarios, we still recommend discussion with colleagues or appropriate specialist input rather than relying on AI.

We strongly advise clinicians not to enter any patient-identifiable information.

However, any data you do enter is fully encrypted and securely stored within our system. We do not sell, share, or transfer this data to any third parties, and it is never used outside the platform.

Yes. MedicMuse is built using trusted, evidence-based clinical sources such as NICE guidelines, the BNF, SIGN, NHS pathways and other nationally recognised standards. MedicMuse updates as soon as these clinical sources do.

MedicMuse was created by a UK GP and medical developer who understands the pressures of frontline primary care. We have a clinical advisory group made up of experienced GPs who review features, outputs, and guideline updates. Every clinical feature is developed with direct input from practising clinicians, not just engineers.

All clinical logic is created, reviewed and tested by practising UK GPs to ensure the information is safe, appropriate and aligned with real-world practice.

MedicMuse is currently designed as a clinical support and productivity tool, not a diagnostic medical device. It does not make autonomous clinical decisions and always requires clinical judgement from the user.

However, we are working towards future compliance with UK medical device standards as the product evolves. We will be transparent about our regulatory status at every stage. If you would like to join our team to help us achieve this, please send us an email at info@medicmuse.co.uk

No — provided it is used appropriately.

  • Clinicians must avoid entering identifiable patient data
  • All final clinical decisions must be made by a qualified professional
  • MedicMuse acts as a support tool, not a replacement for judgement
  • We are GDPR compliant and provide transparency about data handling
  • Using tools like MedicMuse is in line with GMC guidance on digital decision support

We designed MedicMuse to enhance safe practice, not compromise it.
